Greek National Road 7 (Αυτοκινητόδρομος 7) is a motorway in Peloponnese, Greece known as the "Moreas Odos" (Moreas Road, where "Moreas" denotes the medieval name of the Peloponnese). It begins at a motorway intersection with Greek National Road 8A outside Corinth and ends at Kalamata, passing through Tripoli. It contains intersections with the Greek Motorway A9 and a yet unnumbered motorway branch that, when complete, will reach Sparta. (See List of Greek roads for more information and maps).

Currently, only the Corinth - Tripoli is constructed, and the remainder of the road until Kalamata will be complete by 2012, with construction starting in late 2007. Along that, construction will start on the branch to Sparta. During this construction, the existing part will be improved, with the reconstruction of some dangerous curves, added lighting throughout the length, completion of the Artemisio Tunnel and construction of a better median throughout its length.

Additional information

The already existing part of Corinth - Tripoli was constructed from 1989 to 1994. Before that, the road connecting Corinth to Tripoli was a very low quality 2-lane road, with dangerous curves, that still exists, but is now rarely used. The then-new motorway made transportation much faster, easier, and of course safer, which led to increased development of Tripoli.

This motorway has recently been numbered "Motorway A7", virtually replacing the old GR-7. The branch to Sparta is still unnumbered.
